Do you want to discover how to create a variety of basic looks for women using different techniques? The main purpose of this course is to help you to develop your Hairdressing skills, techniques and knowledge, which will prepare you for progression to the next level of vocational learning.
Course content
This course has a compulsory six weeks introductory period, from when it starts, that will cover important skills and knowledge necessary for progression during the course.
On this Level 2 Certificate course you will learn:
The importance of hair preparation using a range of products to shampoo and condition the hair
Cut and style women’s hair using a variety of techniques

How much does the course cost?
This course costs £849. There may be funding available for this course depending on circumstances. The introductory period, which must be completed, costs £85. There is no funding available for the introductory period, so all learners must pay this fee.

Part-time courses are only available for students who are 19 years old and above. You may not have to pay for this course if you are employed but earn below £23,400 a year, or if you are unemployed and receive Job Seekers Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance or Universal Credit. You will need to provide evidence of your eligibility and this will be required at enrolment.
This course is funded by South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) and/or West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA). You must be living in the South or West Yorkshire regions to qualify for funding.
Course Content
Good customer service skills and an interest in hairdressing.
You may be required to sit an initial English assessment if you do not already hold an English Language or ESOL qualification.
You will carry out practical assessments and on-line tests/assignments.
You could progress to the Hairdressing Level 2 Diploma.

Having good English and Maths qualifications are important for most careers and we want to give you the help you need to succeed.
If you are aged 16 - 19 and don't hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths, you will automatically be included in your study programme. If you want to work towards achieving a higher grade in English and Maths, we can help you do that too and we offer Level 3 Mathematical Studies (Core Maths) which maybe added to your study programme, subject to approval from your chosen department.
If you're aged 19 or above and don't hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths we can help. We offer FREE English and Maths qualifications that can be studied on a part-time basis, subject to eligibility.
