Basic skills in numeracy and literacy and a clear DBS check are required.

You will achieve

CACHE Level 1 Award in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care.

Course overview

The Award in Preparing to Work in Health and Social Care is a six-week course. This qualification enables students to develop a basic knowledge of the adult social care sector and aims to provide a qualification for students who would like to work in this industry.

Course content

  • Introduction to the adult social care sector
  • Introduction to the values and principles of adult social care
  • Awareness of the skills and attitudes needed to work in adult social care
  • Awareness of communication in adult social care
  • Awareness of the roles and responsibilities of the adult social care worker

You will be assessed using a range of methods which could include direct observation, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task.

You will require a pen, an A4 writing pad and plastic pockets.

Progression options are to a Level 1 Certificate in Health and Social Care or Level 1 Children and Young People’s Settings qualification.
