You should be aged between 11 to 15 years to do this programme.

A College ‘Certificate of Attendance’ is awarded on completion of the programme.

Course overview

Junior Chef is a unique opportunity for young people interested in cooking to learn the basic skills and techniques needed to embark on a lifetime of cooking. We are passionate about encouraging children and young adults to cook. This course gives them a chance to work in and enjoy the experience of a fully equipped professional kitchen.

Course content

The programme covers basic cookery skills, plus savoury and sweet items, in order to develop an interest in cookery. It also enables you to meet others with a similar interest.
The Junior Chef dishes include:

  • Italian pizzas
  • Yorkshire food
  • Mexican food
  • Indian food
  • Thai cooking
  • Party food
  • Pasta
  • Fish and chips

All equipment and ingredients will be provided. You will also be provided with an apron and chef’s hat. The completed dishes can also be taken home.

How much does the course cost?

Course fees: £70 full fee payable (Bring a friend and you can enrol for only £60).
