Entry requirements
  • Participants will normally be either practising or aspiring middle managers who have the support from their direct line manager
  • Whilst there are no formal educational requirements a good standard of literacy and numeracy is essential (GCSE Maths and English A to C Grade are desirable)
  • The ideal candidate will have middle management experience and a Level 3 or Level 4 Management qualification

We offer courses awarded by either CMI (Chartered Management Institute) or ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management)

A short introductory programme designed for practicing middle managers, helping them to start developing their skills and experience, improve performance and prepare for senior management responsibilities.

This qualification is ideal for managers seeking to develop their leadership skills and awareness to get better results from their teams and prepare themselves to take on more responsibility.

Course content

You will be required to attend classes for six hours per week and attend individual tutorial sessions to support your learning.

You will participate in lectures, group discussion, assessment, and team exercises.

This qualification has a credit value of eight and consists of the following units:

  • Becoming an effective leader
  • Managing stress and conflict in the workplace

 

How will I be assessed?

Units are assessed via several methods, work based assignments, presentations, reflective reviews, written reports and knowledge reviews.

What equipment will I need?

You will be required to provide paper, writing materials, A4 ring binder file, extra wide dividers and clear plastic wallets.
