Entry requirements
  • No formal educational qualifications are required, but GCSE Maths and English A to C Grade are desirable.
  • Candidates should ideally be either a practicing team leader seeking to move up to the next level of management or have management responsibilities and serious about developing their abilities.
  • All candidates will be interviewed before being accepted onto the programme.

Course overview

We offer courses awarded by either CMI (Chartered Management Institute) or ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management)

This qualification is ideal if you have management responsibilities but no formal training, and are serious about developing your abilities. It’s particularly suited to practicing team leaders seeking to move up to the next level of management, and managers who need to lead people through organisational change, budget cuts or other pressures.

Course content

You will be required to attend classes for six and a half hours per week and attend individual tutorial sessions to support your learning.

This course particularly supports practising team leaders seeking to move up to the next level of management. You will participate in lectures, group discussion, assessment, and team exercises.

The course has a credit value of four and consists of the following units:

  • Understanding performance management
  • Understanding how to motivate to improve performance

How will I be assessed?

Units are assessed by work based assignments, reflective reviews and knowledge reviews.

You will be required to provide paper, writing materials, A4 ring binder file, extra wide dividers and clear plastic wallets.
