The course starts in September 2023 and will take four years to complete.

Entry requirements

This qualification is suitable only for those aged 18 years or over.

We welcome applications from students with business experiences and prior qualifications to be considered for this course.

All applicants will be interviewed for entry to the programme to ensure that the course meets their needs and interests. You must be:

  • Able to demonstrate a commitment to pursuing a career within a relevant field.
  • Committed to personal and professional development.
  • Able to demonstrate an ability to work independently or in a group.
  • Able to work with tutor support and guidance in both practical and academic settings.

You will need to:

  • Have completed a relevant Level 3 qualification.
  • Hold GCSE English at grade C/grade 4 (or an alternative equivalent).
  • Have at least 60 UCAS points.

You will achieve

You will achieve an Organisational Leadership and Management Foundation Degree (FdA) and a CMI Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management.

If you want to develop your leadership and management skills, then this study programme is ideal for you!

The Organisational Leadership and Management Foundation Degree (FdA) is ideal for those want to start a career in a leadership or management role or want to develop their existing skills to gain a promotion within the Business/Management sector.

You will also study a CMI Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management alongside the Organisational Leadership and Management FdA which provides a unique selling point that will enhance your profile within the job market.

The course takes you two thirds of the way to a full Bachelor’s degree. You’ll be able to top-up to a Bachelor’s degree by progressing onto the Organisational Leadership and Management opportunities BA (Hons) Top-up course.

Course content

The course includes a broad range of modules which cover the key areas of modern business giving you a well-rounded knowledge base and the confidence to work as a professional within any organisation.

You will study a range of units including:

  • Personal effectiveness
  • The business environment
  • Developing collaborative relationships
  • Management of finance
  • Operational management
  • Project management (with a work-based learning component)
  • Managing change
  • Decision making
  • Digital business and new technologies in the workplace
  • Leading, managing and developing people

Assessment methods are a mixture of practical and written assessments and individual oral presentations.

You will need to provide your own writing material, paper or an electronic device to make notes/complete written assignments.
