You will sit an examination at the end of the course.
This course will start in September 2020. Three hours split into 2 classes of 1.5 hours each will be online via a suitable online platform. All details will be provided at your initial assessment. You will be required to attend College for an initial assessment, mock and final examinations.
Functional Skills Maths qualification.
Distance learning/online learning means studying remotely, allowing you to learn in your own time, wherever you choose. Using a range of material you’ll undertake course activities and assignments with regular support from your tutor, interacting with fellow students via email, online forums, phone and virtual conferencing.
The qualification is available for Levels 1 and 2. It contains a range of units which develop Maths and English skills needed in work and life.
These programmes are flexible. If you want to improve your reading, writing and numeracy skills, or want to gain a qualification for the skills you already have, a Skills for Life qualification could be for you. Functional Skills qualifications are designed to help you develop the skills you use in everyday life.
Functional skills classes run continually throughout the year. You will need an assessment to determine the level you start at. Assessments will take place on a Monday (term time only) between 1pm -5pm
Functional skills qualifications in mathematics assess three interrelated process skills:

On completion of these programmes, you may wish to progress to other College programmes in either this area or another area of study.
