Maths GCSE Part-time

This course next starts in September, although you can start Functional Skills Maths now, if this is the right level for you. If you are interested in studying GCSE Maths, please apply and you will be invited in for an assessment and further information.

This course will equip you with the knowledge you need to achieve a qualification in GCSE Maths.

Course Fees and Funding

How much does the course cost?

This course is fully funded to anyone who is aged 19+ and does not already have a grade 4/C in this subject. For applicants who do not meet all these criteria, the full cost of the course is £500. This course is funded by South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) and/or West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA).

Course Content

  • You must be aged 19+ to enrol on this course.

  • You are normally expected to have achieved grade 3/D in GCSE Maths. However you will undertake an assessment. Learners who are are not suitable will be offered a functional skills maths course

The new specification of GCSE Maths has three exams at the end of the course, 2 calculator and 1 non-calculator.

You must be able to attend the exams on the specified dates as they are fixed dates for all GCSE exams across the country.

You will require a scientific calculator and geometrical instruments.

GCSE

GCSE mathematics at grade 4 (or above) is a specified entry requirement for a wide range of careers and HE courses.

Having good English and Maths qualifications are important for most careers and we want to give you the help you need to succeed.

If you are aged 16 - 19 and don't hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths, you will automatically be included in your study programme. If you want to work towards achieving a higher grade in English and Maths, we can help you do that too and we offer Level 3 Mathematical Studies (Core Maths) which maybe added to your study programme, subject to approval from your chosen department.

If you're aged 19 or above and don't hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths we can help. We offer FREE English and Maths qualifications that can be studied on a part-time basis, subject to eligibility.
