This course has various start times throughout the year. You will study for three hours per week for 10 weeks. You will attend classes and workshops

Entry requirements

There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification. However, an interest or experience in mentoring is desirable.

NCFE Level 2 Award in Mentoring.

Course overview

This qualification allows you to develop the skills needed to become an effective mentor

Course content

The course will cover the following areas:

  • The role and practice of mentorship including the relationship between the mentor and the mentee and following good practice.
  • Developing the specific skills and understanding needed to become a mentor
  • The benefits of mentoring
  • Legal and ethical mentoring requirements
  • Reflection on your own learning and work performance

To be awarded the NCFE Level 2 Award in Mentoring, learners are required to successfully complete 3 mandatory units.

  • Role of a mentor
  • Preparing for the role of a mentor
  • Demonstrating mentoring skills and techniques

How will I be assessed?

You will produce a portfolio of evidence, which demonstrates achievement of all the learning outcomes and assessment criteria associated with each unit.

How much does the course cost?

This course costs £350. You may eligible for funding to cover the cost of this qualification.
