Course overview

This course is designed to develop your knowledge and skills in providing acrylic nails for clients. Acrylics are an immensely popular service, so gaining qualifications in this skill could help to open a range of new earning and career opportunities for you.

Course content

As part of this course, you will study:

  • Health and safety
  • Consultation and product knowledge
  • Nail science
  • Application and removal of acrylic nails

You will be assessed by completing written tasks and tests, and successfully completing a practical assessment.

You will need pens, paper, and a folder.

After completing this course, you could progress onto study another of our part-time courses. We offer lots of part-time Hair and Beauty courses, including: Level 2 Award in Providing a Manicure Service, Pedicures, Nail Art, Beauty Therapy, or Level 3 in Nail Technology.

Extra information

You may not have to pay for this course if you are employed but earn below £21,255 a year, or if you receive Job Seekers Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance or Universal Credit. If you are unemployed, actively seeking employment and receive Council Tax Benefit, Housing Benefit, Income Support or WFTC then you may also receive funding for this course. You will need to provide evidence of your eligibility which will be checked at enrolment.

This course is funded by South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) and/or West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA). You must be living in the South or West Yorkshire regions to qualify for funding.
