Plaster Skimmer Level 2 Part-Time

This intensive Level 2 qualification will provide you with a range of plaster skimming skills and knowledge ranging from using plastering tools to learning how to plaster on different surfaces. You will also develop an understanding of the health and safety requirements and self-employment. Moreover, you will enhance your communication, teamwork, research, and analysis abilities.

Part-time courses are only available for students who are 19 years old and above. You may not have to pay for this course if you are employed but earn below £23,400 a year, or if you are unemployed and receive Job Seekers Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance or Universal Credit. You will need to provide evidence of your eligibility and this will be required at enrolment.

This course is funded by South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) and/or West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA). You must be living in the South or West Yorkshire regions to qualify for funding.

Course Content

  • Learners must already have developed skills with the use of plastering tools either through

    previous work or training

  • This course is not suited to those with no plastering experience

  • No GCSE required for entry to this qualification

  • You must be aged 19+

The qualifications are a combination internally set and internally assessed units and externally set and externally assessed units.

All equipment will be provided

Certificate

Achievement of one of these qualifications confirms the learner has gained the knowledge and

skills required to:

  • Progress directly into employment as a plaster skimmer

  • Progress into further learning at a higher level

Having good English and Maths qualifications are important for most careers and we want to give you the help you need to succeed.

If you are aged 16 - 19 and don't hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths, you will automatically be included in your study programme. If you want to work towards achieving a higher grade in English and Maths, we can help you do that too and we offer Level 3 Mathematical Studies (Core Maths) which maybe added to your study programme, subject to approval from your chosen department.

If you're aged 19 or above and don't hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths we can help. We offer FREE English and Maths qualifications that can be studied on a part-time basis, subject to eligibility.
