Plumbing and Heating Level 2 T Level Foundation Full-time

Throughout this course, students will acquire essential plumbing skills, such as installing and maintaining heating systems, fitting domestic appliances, and handling emergency repairs. Practical knowledge will also be gained in connecting pipes, installing rainwater goods, and testing plumbing components. Emphasis is placed on health and safety, problem-solving, and customer care, ensuring preparation for a varied and hands-on career in plumbing.

Full-time Barnsley College students aged 16-18 years old do not have to pay tuition fees.

Course Content

This course is for 16-18 year olds. GCSE grade 3 in English and Maths.

There will be assessment windows throughout the study programme where your knowledge and understanding will be assessed for a Pass, Merit or Distinction grade. You will be provided with a Synoptic practical skills test on the practical skills you have developed throughout your training. The knowledge exam will assess your understanding of the knowledge you have developed and will either be a paper-based or computer-based test. Achieving this Technical Certificate means that you have reached the standards expected by the industry

Basic stationery for the classroom activities. There are five points of Personal protective equipment (PPE) required in the workshop at all times. Each student is expected to provide their own safety boots and the department will provide the other four pieces: Hi-viz vest Hard hat Eye safety Gloves

T Level Foundation Year

T Level in Building Services Engineering (Plumbing occupation). Apprenticeship in Plumbing (successful employer support required to take this option).

Having good English and Maths qualifications are important for most careers and we want to give you the help you need to succeed.

If you are aged 16 - 19 and don't hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths, you will automatically be included in your study programme. If you want to work towards achieving a higher grade in English and Maths, we can help you do that too and we offer Level 3 Mathematical Studies (Core Maths) which maybe added to your study programme, subject to approval from your chosen department.

If you're aged 19 or above and don't hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths we can help. We offer FREE English and Maths qualifications that can be studied on a part-time basis, subject to eligibility.
