This course will start in January 2024. This course will take 16 weeks to complete, term-time only.
You will need two GCSE’s at grade 2 (E) or above including Maths and English.
Level 1 Certificate in Introduction to Professional Food and Beverage Service Skills (City & Guilds)
This qualification is for those who want to work front of house within a hospitality environment. It is also for those learners that want a rounded knowledge of both front of house and the kitchen, which will enable them to look at more senior positions in the future. This qualification covers all aspects of the food and beverage service, it will deliver the key skills required by the learner to ensure they will have a thorough understanding of the role and expectations that any future employer will expect of them.

We run a very professional department and your uniform and equipment is integral to that professionalism. You are required to provide your own uniform and equipment, such as knives.
At college we use a local supplier who gives a good discount to all our learners and we will provide you with a uniform and equipment list.

This course costs £822. This course may be FREE to study depending on your circumstances – please see the drop-down option below for more details.
You may not have to pay for this course if you are employed but earn below £21,255 a year, or if you receive Job Seekers Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance or Universal Credit. If you are unemployed, actively seeking employment and receive Council Tax Benefit, Housing Benefit, Income Support or WFTC then you may also receive funding for this course. You will need to provide evidence of your eligibility which will be checked at enrolment.
This course is funded by South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) and/or West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA). You must be living in the South or West Yorkshire regions to qualify for funding.
