Entry requirements

Entry to this course will require you to hold at least a Level 1 or equivalent qualification and you should have a good level of English.

You will achieve

You will achieve a VTCT Level 2 Award in Manicure Services.

Course overview

This course is designed to develop your knowledge and skills in providing a manicure service. Manicures are a timeless treatment and being qualified in providing this service could open new career opportunities for you.

Course content

As part of this course, you will study:

  • Health and safety
  • Consultation and product knowledge
  • Manicure treatment
  • Additional treatments (Hand mask, paraffin wax mask and hot oil)
  • French and dark polish
  • Science – skin, nail structure, bones/muscles of the hand/ arm, blood, and lymphatic system

You will be assessed by completing written tasks and tests, plus successfully completing a practical assessment.

To study this course, you will need:

  • Manicure equipment (This will be provided, but you can purchase it if you wish)
  • Professional uniform
  • Pens, paper and folder

After completing this course, you could progress onto study another of our part-time courses. We offer lots of Hair and Beauty courses, including Level 2 Awards in Facial Massage and Skincare; Providing a Pedicure Service; Eyebrow and Eyelash Tinting; Eye; Beauty Therapy and Nail Technology.

How much does the course cost?

This course costs £390. Funding may be available, subject to eligibility.
