Develop the advanced skills needed to plan and develop a series for radio…

This course will involve writing, producing and recording narratives, programmes, short stories/scenes, documentaries and interviews using an assortment of industry standard equipment and software.

Paying particular attention to structure, characterisation, dialogue and series composition, learners will also cover user experience methodologies, case studies, boosting awareness and consideration, audience response and developing short-long term brand salience.

Broadcasting standards and ethics will also be covered as part of this course and activities that support creating a live portfolio/ show-reel for future employment will be discussed and presented.

Course content

Be guided on a step-by-step experience in developing techniques and approaches needed to create an advanced radio series

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Develop your own radio series/scenes
  • Write original sections of text and develop characters
  • Record a performed script in a recording studio
  • Explore ‘on mic’ skills and techniques required for acting in radio drama
  • Capture, Edit and Post-Produce assets
  • Develop vocal characterisation skills for audio situations
  • Advanced workflow management techniques
  • Creating and amalgamating show-reels
