Entry requirements

A suitable Level 2 Fitness Instructing qualification e.g. Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (Gym/ ETM). Some experience of circuit training is also useful. The course requires physical exertion and individual participation is essential, therefore, a degree of physical fitness is necessary. Learners should also have good communication skills.

Course overview

This course will train you if you already have knowledge and skills in gym or exercise to music instruction, to a professionally competent level to plan and deliver safe and effective circuit training sessions. The course will also broaden your skills of gym or exercise to music.

Course content

The course consists of two units:

  • Understand group circuit training
  • Understand different methods of circuit training

You will be assessed on a session plan introduction, circuit layout, circuit cards and an observed session with a self-evaluation. Portfolio worksheets will also need to be completed.

You will require pens, paper, stopwatch and suitable fitness clothing and footwear.

You will be qualified to deliver/instruct circuit sessions. Alternatively you can progress to Level 3 qualifications in Personal Training if you wish to further your knowledge and skills.
