This course will start again from October 2020. The course is delivered over four Tuesdays 6pm-9pm and two alternate Sundays from 9-5pm.

Entry requirements

Learners must hold:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training (or equivalent)
  • Level 3 Coaching qualification (or equivalent)
  • Or a Level 3 Strength and conditioning qualification (or equivalent)
  • Learners may also hold relevant higher education or further education qualifications that are equivalent or higher than those listed above (e.g. physiotherapy, sports therapy)
  • There is an element of communication learners should have basic skills in communication pitched at level 3

You will achieve

Active IQ Certificate in Strength and Conditioning Level 4

Course overview

This qualification provides learners with the knowledge and skills to plan, prepare, deliver and review strength and conditioning programmes to help athletes to achieve their performance goals. It is ideal for trainers and sports coaches.

Course content

The course consists of two mandatory units and covers the following:

  • Performance analysis of the activity and athlete
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate periodised performance-related strength and conditioning programmes
