NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Specific Learning Difficulties.

Course overview

Around 15% of people have a learning difficulty, which means they can find it harder to learn certain skills. If you’re looking to improve your understanding and awareness of learning difficulties, this is the course for you. You will learn about a range of specific learning difficulties, including ADHD, dyslexia and dyscalculia. It’s great for people working in a variety of sectors, such as healthcare, social care and education.

This qualification aims to give you the knowledge of different specific learning difficulties, how they are diagnosed and how individuals can be supported. The qualification can be used by a wide range of learners looking to improve their knowledge and awareness in this subject area.

Course content

You will study the following modules:

  • Understand Specific Learning Difficulties
  • Understand the effects of Specific Learning Difficulties
  • Understand the diagnosis of Specific Learning Difficulties
  • Understanding supporting individuals with Specific Learning Difficulties
  • Understand the context of Specific Learning Difficulties

Units are assessed by online; reflective reviews or short answer questions.

You will require the use of a laptop or PC with internet connection.

You will study at home. There is no College attendance required.

Those who achieve this qualification could progress to:

  • Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Working with Individuals with Learning Disabilities
  • Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) for England
  • Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism
  • Level 2 and 3 qualifications in Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities
  • Level 2 and 3 Certificates in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Level 2 and 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce
  • Level 3 Award in Supporting Children and Young People’s Speech, Language and Communication

How much does the course cost?

This course is fully-funded to anyone who meets the Eligibility Criteria. Eligibility criteria as follows: You must be aged 19 or over on 1 August 2019 If you live in one of the areas listed below, this course will be free! Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster or Sheffield Candidates age 19-23 must already hold a full Level 2 qualification Candidates must have lived within the EU for the last 3 years Not enrolled onto any other course and must not have completed their chosen course previously If you meet the eligibility criteria these distance learning courses will be provided FREE OF CHARGE within the following guidelines: – You must complete your training successfully within the agreed time scales which will be set at time of induction. Where work is not completed by the expected end date or the candidate withdraws from the course a standard £125 fee per person will be payable by the person undertaking the training.
