Don’t worry it’s not too late! Take a look at all our A Level courses and apply online.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic we are unable to offer face to face interviews.  We will send an email with a link to a Microsoft form for you to tell us a bit more about your career aspirations, what subjects you are interested in and anything you want more information about.

Once we receive your completed online form and subject choices you will be given a conditional offer.

You will have the opportunity to discuss everything with a tutor during your enrolment appointment.  (See below)

We will send you an invitation for your online enrolment session in August.  Please note we are enrolling from 20-21 August 2020.

On-line enrolment will take 3 easy steps.

STEP 1

  • A tutor will phone at the time specified in your email.
  • You can discuss your thoughts about future careers, university options and your proposed subject choices.
  • Confirm your GCSE grades or any other qualifications, where applicable.
  • You will be given all the information about the Sixth Form College and when to start. (If you have access to a camera, we can also arrange a video call via Microsoft TEAMS then you get to see the staff).

STEP 2

Log in to your online enrolment portal. (If you haven’t already had an interview you may need to create an account first).

STEP 3

Simply check your details, upload any evidence as discussed, such as a copy of your GCSE results slip or qualifications (where applicable) accept the Terms & Conditions and confirm your enrolment.

The majority of enrolments will be done online. However, we appreciate that in some cases this may not be possible.  Please contact our helpline to make alternative arrangements by telephone on: 01226 216106.

We understand that this year things have been very different; we will discuss all options on an individual basis and support you in making the right choices.

Have a look at the page about A level entry requirements on the Barnsley Sixth Form College website.

If you decide that A Levels is not the right option, we have staff available to discuss other study programmes within the College including T Levels, Vocational and Apprenticeship routes.

Yes, it’s fine to change your subject choices. If you know what changes you’d like to make, simply contact our friendly Admissions Team via email interviews@barnsley.ac.uk or ring our helpline on: 01226 216106 to swap them over.

If you’re unsure, contact our Information Team to discuss your subject combinations and how these fit in with your future plans. You may even want to do some research in advance about what subjects universities would be looking for. UCAS Explore is a good place to start your research.

We understand that your future plans may change and you might still not be sure on what career path to take.  Don’t worry we encourage applicants to keep a few options open.

If you want to change an A level subject go to question  above ‘Can I change my A Level subject choices?’

If you have decided that A Levels is not the right option and want to explore other study programmes within the College including T Levels, Vocational and Apprenticeship routes visit the Our Courses page on our website.

If you would like to speak to an Adviser for further Information Advice and Guidance please contact us via email info@barnsley.ac.uk or call us on: 01226 216123.

The new term starts on Tuesday 1st September 2020. However due to the current Covid-19 situation we will be operating staggered start dates and times.  Your tutor will provide all the details about your induction and timetable at the point of enrolment.

20/21 Academic Year term dates are available on our website.

The way we adapted to online delivery during lockdown, has given us a really good head start. In line with government guidelines for class sizes and social distancing measures, ‘blended learning’ will be the way to go, with a mixture of online delivery and practical, on-site taught sessions.

Don’t worry!  Tell your tutor and they will work with you to ensure that you have the necessary equipment to support your learning.
