Anna Phillips from Lundwood recently won high street vouchers in a Barnsley College prize draw.
Anna scooped the prize after attending a Barnsley College Open Day and completing an evaluation form.
Choosing the right career pathway at the age of 16 can be a daunting task and the aim of College’s Open Days is to equip potential students with information about College courses, speak to tutors, tour buildings, attend presentations and find out about the range of support services available.
Anna said: “Coming to a Barnsley College Open Day was really easy and simple. I thought it would be quite daunting but everyone was really helpful and friendly. I will be spending my vouchers on either books or equipment that will help me in further study.”
Mel Jenkinson, Head of Student Recruitment, added: “We were pleased to see so many potential students turn up to find out what Barnsley College has to offer. The College recognises that for some students choosing a career pathway at the ages of 15 and 16 can be unnerving, so it’s good to see them widening their knowledge.”
