About the event
The premiere event of our Discover Digital programme, Women in Tech, is a professional development opportunity for anyone within the education sector.
Discover Digital is a series of events which will provide an inspiring educational masterclass platform and support our students, local schools, the education sector and the wider Barnsley community into digital.
The Women in Tech event takes place online on Wednesday 5 May (1.00pm to 3.00pm) and attendees can join masterclasses with female industry leaders from major international technology companies who will:
• Discuss how they got involved in technology
• Have conversations on potential barriers each may have had to overcome
• Share information about roles and careers within the digital technologies sector
Attendees can also participate in free certified Microsoft qualifications (MOS, MCE, MTA, MTC) and enter a national competition, with chances to win technology prizes and work experience with Microsoft.

Discover Digital is part of Barnsley College’s investment in providing digital and follows on from the College becoming a Microsoft Showcase College and the investment in our SciTech Digital Innovation Hub.
