Barnsley College’s C-STEM department has installed 12 permanent outdoor flags at its Construction Centre in partnership with local and national construction companies.
Each of the 12 flags contain the logos of the companies who have sponsored them:
This partnership will allow the College to enhance the learning for Construction students through community initiatives such as work experience and site visits, providing students with first-hand experience and preparing them for the world of work within the construction industry.
Duncan Bulloch, Director of C-STEM at Barnsley College, said: “This has been a tremendous achievement by the C-STEM department. To have such prestigious construction businesses show their support to Barnsley College will strengthen our ties with them as well as with the local community.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the C-STEM staff for their contribution and our external stakeholders. We will be welcoming representatives from the 12 construction companies who have agreed to sponsor the department in the near future and celebrate this momentous occasion.”
Sally Steadman, Director of Marketing, Communications and PR at Barnsley College, added: “Collaborating with local businesses is key to helping our students prepare for employment after they finish their course at Barnsley College. We would like to thank all 12 businesses for their support.”
