University Campus Barnsley (UCB) is offering a degree course for people wishing to work within a variety of early years positions.

The BA (Hons) Early Years degree will allow students to experience a range of settings from school and nursery classes to family support and community roles, by combining academic study with work placement opportunities.

The course can lead students into teaching in a range of education and training positions and roles within uniformed services and private training organisations.

Programme Manager Lee Pryor said: “This course equips students for working within early years careers by blending academic work with the practical experience they gain through their work placements.

“On completing this degree, our past graduates have progressed into positions such as primary or secondary school teaching, youth and community work and social work.”

The BA (Hons) Early Years degree is run on a full-time basis over three years or part-time over four years. Full-time fees are £5,995 per year and part-time fees are £2,995 per year.
