Barnsley College’s Health and Wellbeing Centre organised a Health Market to promote their initiatives to staff and students at the college.

A number of external agencies were invited to have a stall and provide information on the services that can be accessed locally as well at the Centre. These included: health trainers, Fit Mums, mental health services, Street Pastors, The Samaritans, Change for Life, NHS Health Champions and the Stop Smoking Service.

Laura Gray, Health and Wellbeing Adviser at Barnsley College, said: “The Health and Wellbeing Centre offers a wide range of services and we wanted to inform our staff and students of what is available when the centre is open and how the services can be accessed when we are closed.”

The Health and Wellbeing Centre work with staff from the NHS to deliver health promotions, events and initiatives at the college. The services offered include: advice about stopping smoking, drugs and alcohol support, diet and nutrition advice, counselling and the Mental Health Access Team (IAPT).
