Barnsley College’s Public Services department have launched a new course in Forensic Science, designed for those wishing to work in a range of forensic science roles. The course offers an exciting and challenging insight into the work of the emergency services whilst investigating serious incidents (road traffic collisions, murders and criminal profiling etc.) through scientific techniques.

Our well-equipped, contemporary teaching rooms have all the facilities and equipment you need including finger printing kits, foot casts, full crime scene investigation suits and outdoor crime scene tents.

To ensure the learners have an excellent and authentic experience, the equipment used is supplied by WA Products and Scenesafe Evidence Recovery Systems, who provide emergency services with their equipment across globe.

Shaun Roberts, who is a retired Warrant Officer Class II with the Royal Military Police Special Investigation branch and currently the National Technical Lead at WA Products and Scenesafe Evidence Recovery Systems, said: “We only supply proven equipment into the law enforcement, military and academia markets and are proud to be supplying Barnsley College.”
Nicholas Lawton, Head of Public Services at Barnsley College said: “If you’re interested in joining one of the uniformed public services such as the Police Force, Ambulance Service, Fire and Rescue Service, British Army, Royal Navy or Royal Air Force, this Extended Diploma in Public Services will prepare you for the mental and physical demands of life in the services.”
