Information for Employers

A newspaper folded over

As a College, the health and wellbeing of our students, our staff and our partners is always our top priority. We are closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation as it unfolds and are continuing to adapt, following the guidance issued by the government and health authorities to help keep everyone as safe as possible.

Employers with apprentices:

Barnsley College is committed to ensure that our students and learners continue their education, therefore we will continue to support all our employers and apprentices with an online delivery model (OneFile) from Monday 23rd March 2020.

Our trainers will continue to work with apprentices, this will happen remotely via online messages and telephone calls. Should this change the College will communicate with the apprentice directly.

This means that the 20% off the job training will still need to occur to allow apprentices to continue with their apprenticeship programme of learning. This can be in the workplace or within the learner’s home environment with authorisation.

If End Point Assessment (EPA) is already planned, then arrangements will be discussed and verified by the apprentice’s trainer on an individualised basis.

We appreciate that this decision may cause uncertainty and inconvenience. However, the personal safety of students and staff, and of those closest to them, is of utmost importance. Our website and social media channels will be kept-to-date with the latest information.
