Penistone Grammar School pupil Luke Smith has won a £20 gift voucher for games retailer GAME after triumphing in a Barnsley College competition.

15-year-old Luke, a Year 10 pupil at Penistone Grammar School, produced the best Halloween-themed visual merchandising display in a competition held by the college’s Business and Management Services department at a recent college open evening.

School pupils visiting the department dressed mannequins in suitably scary outfits, with Luke’s design voted the best by college staff.

Luke said: “The competition was fun and interactive. I particularly liked dressing the mannequins and enjoyed the friendly feel the college staff created. The way the staff had set the room out with a Halloween theme was great and I will definitely visit the college again soon.”

College tutor Samuel Lendore added: “Luke was able to show his creativity and design skills which are an integral part of visual merchandising and was a worthy winner.”
