Barnsley College are now offering a free Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) service to all college staff and students.
From Monday 3 October CAB will provide free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities by trained staff covering benefits, debt and money, housing, consumer law and rights.
The service will be based at the Old Mill Lane campus and will be open Tuesday and Thursday 10.00am to 1.00pm on a drop in basis during term time. The first Tuesday of each month the service will be available in University Campus Barnsley.
Rubina Rashid, Assistant Principal for students, said: “The support on offer from the Citizens Advice Bureau covers such a diverse range of advice and welfare situations so we are delighted to have the service in college. This is another first for the education sector from Barnsley College, which underpins our innovative ethos and adds to the unique range of services we have available to all our students and staff.”
