Prospective A Level students have the opportunity to find out more about Barnsley Sixth Form College’s new campus at an Open Evening on Wednesday 15 April from 4.00pm to 7.00pm.

The Open Evening, focussed around the Sixth Form College’s A Level provision, will be held at the college’s Old Mill Lane campus on Church Street. Visitors will have the opportunity to chat to tutors and current students, find out more about aspiring to university and get information on student support and extra-curricular activities.

The Sixth Form College’s brand new £18m campus is due to open in the 2015/2016 academic year on St Mary’s Place in the heart of the town centre.

Over 25 different A Level subjects are offered at the Sixth Form College, from Art and Design to PE, Biology to Drama and French to History. The overall pass rate for the 2014 cohort was 97% and a 100% pass rate was achieved in 14 subjects including English Language and Literature, Further Maths, French and Classical Civilisation.

Barnsley Sixth Form College Principal Gerard Garvey said: “There has never been a more exciting time to join Barnsley Sixth Form College with our brand new state-of-the-art building due to be completed soon. We have the broadest offer of A Levels in the area and encourage young people to come and speak with our expert staff who can offer advice on the most suitable A Level combinations.”
