New Vice Chair and Governor for Barnsley College

Barnsley College has announced the appointments of Paul Jagger MBE and Ben Mansford to its Board of Governors, with Paul taking up the position of Vice Chair.

Paul brings a breadth of experience to the college having helped develop ground-breaking employment, Higher Education and business engagement processes and techniques to benefit a number of organisations in a varied career which includes 30 years in the trade union movement.

Paul is Chair of the Consultative Council of the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS), recently became a member of the Association of Colleges’ regional board and is President of Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber of Commerce.

Paul said: “Having worked around the Further (FE) and Higher Education (HE) sectors for many years, I am pleased to have become Vice Chair of the college’s Board of Governors. The college is a key player delivering high quality education within Barnsley and I look forward to being part of that process.”

Ben is Chief Executive of Barnsley Football Club and has a varied legal background alongside his expertise in sports management and related rights.

Ben commented: “I am delighted to have been appointed to the college’s Board of Governors and I will bring energy and enthusiasm to the board along with my personal experiences of FE and HE. The success of younger people and everyone seeking to learn new skills is paramount to the growth of Barnsley and the surrounding areas. I will seek to do all I can to drive the college forward over the coming years.”

Their backgrounds and skill sets complement those of our existing board members who are all fully committed to supporting the senior management team and taking the college forward to the next level.”
