Our Animal Care students are thrilled to have received a response from the legendary environmentalist, Sir David Attenborough.

“This moment has been truly inspiring for our students. We’d like to thank Sir David for this powerful reminder of the impact young people can have when they raise their voices for a cause they believe in.”

As part of their Sustainability Week, seven of our passionate students put pen to paper during their GCSE English lessons, writing heartfelt letters to Sir David Attenborough to express their concerns about the local environment and wildlife. They channelled their passion for sustainability into impactful writing.

Fast forward a couple of months, and in a heart warming turn of events, the students received a personal reply from Sir David Attenborough himself—dated Boxing Day, no less. This act demonstrated his kindness, dedication, and commitment to inspiring young people.

The response thanked the students and showed his appreciation for their letters, leaving a lasting impression and inspiring them to deepen their dedication to sustainability and environmental care.

GCSE English tutor Andy Wells, who sent the letters, said: “This moment has been truly inspiring for our students. We’d like to thank Sir David for this powerful reminder of the impact young people can have when they raise their voices for a cause they believe in.”
