Students Bring the Spirit with New Cheerleading Club!
Posted: 29/04/2025
Two ambitious Level 3 Health and Social Care students, Antilina Mutowa and Tania Muhone, have launched an exciting cheerleading lunchtime club at our Honeywell campus.
What started as a shared interest has grown into a dynamic student-led initiative, bringing energy, teamwork, and fitness to the college week.
Why Cheerleading?
“We started the cheerleading club because we saw it as an interesting and fun sport,” Antilina explains. “Tania had experience with it before and told me how great it is for relieving stress and keeping fit. That really inspired us!”
For Tania, it’s a passion that started back in secondary school. “I used to cheerlead before moving to the UK,” she says. “It’s something I’ve always loved and wanted to share.”

From Idea to Reality
With determination and drive, the duo successfully secured funding to bring their vision to life.
“Getting the funding felt like a door to success had opened,” they shared. “It was a huge step forward—not just for us, but for the future of cheerleading at the college. It gave us real hope that we’re starting something meaningful.”
What’s the Goal?
At its core, the cheerleading club is about fun, fitness, and friendship.
“We hope it brings people together,” says Antilina. “It’s a great way to meet new friends, stay active, and try something new.”
Are you a current student and want to join the club or find out more?
Message Antilina Mutowa or Tania Muhone on Teams, or pop along to Honeywell on a Tuesday or Thursday lunchtime — no experience needed, just a positive spirit!
