Students have a smashing time

An event organised by Yorkshire Sport Foundation saw students from Yorkshire-based colleges take to the racetrack to be doused from head to toe in different coloured powder.

The Colour Smash event took place at Dearne Valley College where students and staff from Barnsley College were joined by representatives from Rotherham College, North Notts College and The Sheffield College to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust.

Teenage Cancer Trust creates excellent services for young people in the UK, providing life-changing cancer care and support so young people don’t have to face cancer alone.

Amanda Sowerby, Barnsley College Sports Maker and event organiser, said: “The event was a great success and I am proud of what we have all achieved. The fact the money we raised will go to helping Teenage Cancer Trust fight cancer makes everyone feel proud.”
