In celebration of International Women’s Day, a group of dedicated students organised an empowering forum to honour the achievements and contributions of women around the world.

The forum featured a diverse lineup of students and staff from various subjects including Construction, A Levels, Animal Care, Public Services and Business.

Panel discussions covered a range of topics, from women’s rights and leadership to the impact of education on gender equality. Attendees were encouraged to participate actively, sharing their thoughts and experiences in a supportive environment.

“We believe it was important to organise the International Women’s Day Forum to advocate for equality, as hopefully it will emphasise the ongoing fight for gender equality and women’s rights as it continues to be a challenge for women from all backgrounds, ages, and careers.”

The event took place just before International Women’s Day, whose theme this year is #AccelerateAction which calls for more urgent action to achieve gender equality.

The International Women’s Day Forum was a resounding success, leaving attendees inspired and motivated to continue advocating for women’s rights and gender equality.

Elsie Naivalurua, a Level 3 Uniformed Protective Services student and organiser of the forum, said: “We were inspired to run the forum this year because we think having that close womanhood and relationships through friends, family and College has made us the people we are and it’s so important to us to have that bond and understanding between each other to inspire people and support one another.

“We believe it was important to organise the International Women’s Day Forum to advocate for equality, as hopefully it will emphasise the ongoing fight for gender equality and women’s rights as it continues to be a challenge for women from all backgrounds, ages, and careers.  Whilst also bringing women together and serving as motivation for others to pursue their dreams and break stigmas.”
