Posted: 06/03/2025
This year’s World Book Day was a big hit, especially with our Education and Early Years T Level students, who joined in the fun of dressing up as their favourite book characters.
The day was filled with excitement, as students not only showcased their creative costumes but also participated in a variety of activities that helped them connect with the world of literature.
It was a day of learning, creativity, and fun – a perfect mix that made World Book Day an unforgettable event for everyone involved!
Stuart Prentice, Programme Manager for Children and Health, said: “World Book Day is important for our Childcare students; by taking part in activities like this now, they are gaining hands-on experience with something they’ll encounter when working in childcare settings after completing their T Level.

“Many schools, nurseries and early years establishments celebrate World Book Day, and being able to engage with children in these activities is a vital part of their training.”
The College Library also played a central role in the celebrations, hosting a fantastic event for all students. From storytelling games to book-themed quizzes, everyone was invited to join in, allowing them to show their teamwork and enthusiasm.
