Modern Methods of Construction (MMC)

UK’s First MMC Training Facility

Barnsley College, in partnership with Laing O’Rourke and T3 Training & Development, has opened the UK’s first dedicated Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) training facility. This pioneering centre addresses the construction skills shortage by equipping Trainee Assembly Specialists with the digital and technical skills needed for off-site manufacturing and on-site assembly.

As the first facility to offer a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Construction Assembly Installation, the MMC Campus will play a key role in preparing the next generation of workers. With the industry needing 250,000 additional workers by 2028, this initiative will bridge the skills gap and modernise construction training.
