This T Level course is perfect if you want a career in Animal Care. It gives you the technical knowledge and practical skills needed for a job or further studies in this field.

You’ll learn about important topics like sustainability, ethics, customer care and business management, along with specialised modules on:

Plus, you’ll get hands-on experience with a 45-day industry placement!

How much does the course cost?

Full-time Barnsley College students aged 16-18 years old do not have to pay tuition fees.

Course Content

Five GCSEs at grade 5 or above including English, Maths and Science. If you don't meet these entry requirements, you may be able to study the Level 2 T Level Foundation course.

Over the two years, you will be required to complete three exams, an employer set project and a synoptic assessment. In addition, you must complete an industry placement, lasting a minimum of 315 hours.

All students on land-based programmes are required to wear standard uniform and also PPE for practical work in the form of steel toe capped boots and overalls.

T Level Technical Qualification

Upon completion of the T Level, you could progress to employment, Higher Education or a Degree Apprenticeship

Having good English and Maths qualifications are important for most careers and we want to give you the help you need to succeed.

If you are aged 16 - 19 and don't hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths, you will automatically be included in your study programme. If you want to work towards achieving a higher grade in English and Maths, we can help you do that too and we offer Level 3 Mathematical Studies (Core Maths) which maybe added to your study programme, subject to approval from your chosen department.

If you're aged 19 or above and don't hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths we can help. We offer FREE English and Maths qualifications that can be studied on a part-time basis, subject to eligibility.
