Craft Bricklayer Level 3 Standard

This occupation is present across various sectors including new builds, refurbishments, and heritage projects. These vary in size, type, and duration, from creating specialist features such as arches and chimneys for domestic customers to repairing listed buildings or large-scale commercial projects using multiple facework types, techniques, and materials. Craft Bricklayers are experts who provide leadership and supervision.

How much does the course cost?

There is no cost to being an apprentice. All costs associated with your apprenticeship, including the cost of training and your salary, will be paid by your employer.

Course Content

You will need to:

  • Secure your own apprenticeship

  • Have completed a Level 2 Bricklayer Apprenticeship

  • Hold a Level 1 Functional Skills qualification or GCSE equivalent

  • You will need to find an employer willing to employ you as an apprentice. Please see our Apprenticeship vacancies for the latest opportunities. Please be aware, individual employers will set their own entry requirements and selection criteria for their apprenticeship job role.

All assessment is done through external sources and at the end of the course called an EPA (End Point Assessment). EPA consists of a multiple choice theory exam, interview and practical exam from a portfolio of evidence which is generated whilst on site.

You will be required to provide pen, pencil, scale ruler, notepads, textbooks and general Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Apprenticeship Standard

On completion of this Apprenticeship, you can move onto employment in roles such as site management.

Having good English and Maths qualifications are important for most careers and we want to give you the help you need to succeed.

If you are aged 16 - 19 and don't hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths, you will automatically be included in your study programme. If you want to work towards achieving a higher grade in English and Maths, we can help you do that too and we offer Level 3 Mathematical Studies (Core Maths) which maybe added to your study programme, subject to approval from your chosen department.

If you're aged 19 or above and don't hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths we can help. We offer FREE English and Maths qualifications that can be studied on a part-time basis, subject to eligibility.
