Education and Training Level 4 Certificate

This course provides the skills, knowledge, and professional values to begin a rewarding teaching career. It prepares you for roles in Further Education colleges, sixth form colleges, adult and community learning, independent training providers, and prison education. With extensive placement experience, you’ll gain practical insights. The programme includes six modules, three teaching observations, and a 30-hour teaching log to prepare you for the challenges of teaching.

The course costs £1,499. You can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover the cost of this course.

Course Content

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above or an equivalent qualification at Level 2 or above

  • Good information and communications (ICT) skills

  • You will need to undertake an interview with the Course Leader

  • You will be required to complete a satisfactory enhanced DBS check

  • You will be required to log 30 hours of teaching throughout the year.

  • A placement within an education provider or to be employed for the duration of the course

Your assessment will be a combination of assignments, practical teaching experience, observation records and reflective practice. You will need to demonstrate that you have developed the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to be a successful teacher.

You will need to provide a pen, paper, notepad or electronic device.

Certificate

Following on from this course, there is opportunity for natural progression to further Higher Education courses are an opportunity such as Level 5 Learning and Skills Teacher apprenticeship, or where appropriate, the Professional Graduate Certificate in Education.
