HN Flex Construction - Building Information Modelling (Unit 13) Part-time
This unit covers Building Information Modelling (BIM) in the construction industry. You will learn about BIM's benefits, key terms and its impact on roles. Skills to produce accurate construction information using industry-standard software will be developed. Topics include local, national, and global BIM developments, Common Data Environments, Project Information Models, and BIM's benefits for stakeholders. This course is delivered as part of the South Yorkshire Institute of Technology (SYIoT).

Course Fees and Funding
How much does the course cost?
An individual unit costs £750. You can study this unit alongside the Digital Applications for Construction Information unit at no cost until August 2025. For more information please see below.
Under the Modular Acceleration Programme, Barnsley College is able to offer selected HN Flex units at no cost to students or employers until August 2025. You will not need to repay any tuition fees to study the combined two units as part of this package, although the funding you access will reduce the amount remaining in your future Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE) account. This funding can be accessed by any student aged between 19 and 60 who lives in England. Visit the Gov website for more information about the Modular Acceleration Programme or LLE.
Other funding information
As a Higher Education student living in England you may be eligible for the non-means tested Tuition Fee Loan from the Government and a Maintenance Loan.
Students with children or dependant adults may qualify for a Childcare Grant or Adult Dependants' Grant. Students can apply for these at the same time as applying for a Maintenance Loan.
Remember: Eligible students will not have to pay tuition fees in advance and can apply for the Maintenance Loan before they start the course.
