About the event
Our Virtual Open Event is now over.
We can’t wait to meet you this evening for our Virtual Open Event. When we go live just click on the banner on this page, or the homepage and you’ll be taken to a form to fill in your contact details and then to the landing page of the event. You’ll have time to browse the site, look at the department pages you’re interested in and plan which live chat sessions you’d like to attend.
For those people unsure of what they want to do we have some really helpful sessions at 4.30pm, 5.00pm, 5.45pm and 6.30pm called What are my options after Y11. Hosted by members of our Information and Schools Liaison Team you’ll get the best advice from the people with all the answers!
See you soon!
What is happening tonight?
Our Online Open Evening will give you information about:
- All our vocational courses
- Our A Level courses at Barnsley Sixth Form College
- T Levels
- Student support services
- Our fantastic facilities
Plus – you can (virtually) meet our tutors too!
All from the comfort of your own sofa
All you will need to take part in the Open Event is a device connected to the internet. This could be a laptop/computer, tablet or smartphone. We’ll ask you to fill in a brief form with your name and email address and then you’ll be taken to the event’s homepage.
Live Chat Sessions
During the evening you’ll be able to drop in to one of our live chat sessions to meet our tutors and ask any questions you may have about a course you’re interested in.
We are using Zoom for these sessions
If you’re going to be joining us from your mobile phone or tablet you can download the Zoom app from your app store now, so that you’re ready to go on the evening.
If you’re using a laptop or PC there’s an app for that too – although you can also use a web browser.
It’s easy to join and use, so don’t be put off! The camera and microphone on your device will be set to OFF at the start of the session so you won’t have to worry about appearing on camera if you’d prefer not to. You can ask your questions using the chat function. Only the tutor will see your question.
