Bridging the gap between education and employment
Talent United is Barnsley College’s employer engagement initiative, which aims to bridge the gap between education and employment. By building lasting relationships with businesses, we can provide students with meaningful employer engagements and create a culture of employment across the College. Together, we can enrich the future labour market by creating a generation of ‘work ready’ learners that are aware of the careers available to them and have the employability skills to progress into employment or further study.
Talent United partners work collaboratively with the College to provide learners with invaluable experiences that raise their aspirations, develop employability skills and discuss potential career paths. Sessions are completely bespoke and are built around the business, the department and the students.
As a Talent United partner, you can have as much or as little involvement as you like and can select the types of activity that you want to get involved with on our sign up form. Whether you are able to offer apprenticeships or work placements, want to inspire students as a guest speaker, support students on a 1:1 basis as a mentor or even to help to shape the curriculum; every intervention is hugely valuable to our students. Getting involved is a simple process, you just need to complete our one sided sign up form with your company details, key contact and activity list. This can be found here.
We are committed to building strong working relationships with all of our partners. This personalised approach ensures that all of your interventions are completely worthwhile and will provide a stepping stone to each of the students or staff members involved. We also think that it is important to thank each business by creating a network of like-minded people and providing our partners with an exclusive package. This includes invites to our unique networking events, exclusive discounts on training programmes and College services, as well as increased promotion through our events and campaigns.
