Funding support available from Barnsley College:
Barnsley College offer a number of different funding support schemes for students studying at the college. Students are not automatically entitled to funding, an application form and proof of household income should be submitted for assessment. Please select the bursaries below to detail the eligibility criteria.
Funding support helps to cover some travel costs, study programme essentials, a contribution towards food allowance and childcare support. (This funding is provided to the college from the 16-19 bursary fund and Adult Education Budget.)
Support schemes available this academic year, September 2020;
Available to all eligible full and part-time students aged 14-16, 16-18 and 19+ studying on a course which is not ‘Full Fee payable’.
Free School Meals
Available to eligible students aged 16-18 that meet the government stated criteria, this can be applied for via the Learner Support Fund.
Top up funding for students completing an Industry Placement as part of their course, provided through the Learner Support Fund.
Available to eligible students who take an Advanced Learner Loan to pay for their course fees.
Eligible students can apply to the Learner Support fund for a contribution towards their childcare fees. Students under the age of 20 at the start of their course must complete a Care to Learn Application.
Available to students In a low household income, residing in Barnsley and on a First year Apprenticeship.
