At Barnsley College we believe that good health and wellbeing is essential for our students to achieve their goals. We have a dedicated team of people who make sure that you are supported to lead healthy and happy lives. We work with Spectrum to deliver sexual health services and also with South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust to deliver our additional range of services across college.
The Health and Wellbeing Centre is based at the Old Mill Lane site and is open Monday to Friday. The centre is staffed by NHS nurses alongside a Health and Wellbeing team who are here to provide you with advice on:
- Mental Health Access Team (IAPT)
- Diet and nutrition advice
- Contraception and Sexual Health services
- Smoking, drugs and alcohol support
- Antenatal and Post-natal care
We also hold events across college throughout the year to raise awareness of health issues and update you about the services we offer. If you don’t study at the Old Mill Lane site, look out for one of our pop-up clinics on your campus.

We run a wide variety of events and promotional days throughout the year where we focus on a range of health related topics. These events are interactive and fun and our aim is to raise awareness of the Health and Wellbeing Centre and healthy behaviours across College.
