The Study Skills service provides advice on planning assignments, writing essays, and referencing. Whether you need help with research or improving your academic writing, the service has you covered. You can get support both in person and online. The goal is to help you become a better independent learner and get ready for exams.

Our dedicated Study Skills Officers, Cherie Cartwright and Helen Digman, are here to support you with every aspect of academic writing and study skills. Whether you need help with critical thinking, referencing, or report writing, they provide expert guidance to students across all Barnsley College courses.

You can find them in the HE Library for in-person support or connect with them online via Microsoft Teams. Book a one-on-one session or submit your work via email to studyskills@barnsley.ac.uk or Teams for constructive feedback and advice on improving your writing.
