Industry placements
Transform your business...
Support a young person to gain valuable work experience and start their career, whilst bringing fresh skills and an extra pair of hands into your workforce for up to 45 weeks, at no cost to your business. Industry placements are a key part of T Level study programmes, providing vital work experience to students and also multiple benefits to businesses.
Not only are you supporting a young person to gain experience of your sector, you're building your workforce pipeline and developing the skills of your existing employees too!

What to expect...
1)
Reduce recruitment costs and access a talent pool of enthusiastic, energetic potential employees.
2)
Address skills shortages within your organisation, and enhance personal development through mentoring and management.
3)
Develop a young person and integrate them into your business from the ground-up.
“We have offered our second industry placement an apprenticeship, he’s a top lad that wouldn’t have been successful any other route due to lack of experience. He’s shown that he has fundamental qualities that employers wouldn’t be able to assess accurately through any other classic assessment, such as an interviews. It really is an opportunity for both students and employers.”
– Carl Britton, Organisation Manager, Whitshaw Builders Ltd
What you can offer...
An Industry Placement should last a minimum of 315 hours, typically completed across 45 days. As an employer, you should be able to...

- Ensure a safe working environment
- Provide a student with a mentor, regular progress reviews and feedback
- Contribute to our review meetings to help us monitor students' progress, achievements and areas for improvement
There are no expectations that work be paid, but some employers do choose to pay those on placements.
