Connecting to eduroam

Eduroam, the College’s free Wi-Fi service is available across all of our campuses which allows students and staff from Barnsley College and other participating institutions to use their Wi-Fi devices.

Barnsley College is a participating member of eduroam which means staff and students of the College can logon to eduroam at all participating sites around the world using their Barnsley College network username and password.

Students Logging into eduroam

  1. Choose the eduroam wireless network on your mobile device.
  2. When prompted for a username and password, please enter the following information:
  3. Username: your 7 digit Student number followed by ‘@live.barnsley.ac.uk’, e.g. 1234567@live.barnsley.ac.uk
  4. Password: your Barnsley College network password (the one you logon to the College computers with).

Android OS Devices: When requested for a CA Certificate please select the option for ‘Do Not Validate’ (we are currently working on the eduroam deployment tool to make this connection seamless in the future)

Staff Logging into eduroam

  1. Choose the eduroam network on your mobile device.
  2. When prompted for a username and password, please enter the following information:
  3. Username: your staff email address,  e.g. a.person@barnsley.ac.uk
  4. Password: your Barnsley College network password (the one you logon to the college computers with).

Android OS Devices: When requested for a CA Certificate please select the option for ‘Do Not Validate’ (we are currently working on the eduroam deployment tool to make this connection seamless in the future)

Eduroam is available on most popular devices, however it should be noted that not all devices are compatible with the service.
