If you are aged 19 or over and wish to study a full level 3 qualification or above you may be eligible for a loan to cover the cost of your study programme. Please see our Advanced Learner Loans page for more information.

Low Income Fee Remission

You may not have to pay for your course (selected courses only) if you live in the qualifying areas (South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire) and you are:

  • Employed / Self-Employed learners earning less than £21,255 per year (you no longer require proof of contract and holiday pay)
  • you are in receipt of JSA/ESA or Universal Credit (working less than 16 hours per week)

Full Fee Payable Courses

Some courses at college are listed as full fee payable and unfortunately we are unable to waive the fees on these courses or offer discounts. This means that everyone has to pay the full amount for these courses.

Payment methods

Fees are paid for one year of study at any one time. Annual payments will be made for courses of more than one year in duration.

You must pay fees in full at the time of enrolment or make instalment arrangements. You can pay by credit/debit card, cash or cheque made payable to ‘Barnsley College’.

Instalments

Instalments are available for courses with fees over £150, one third of the fee is payable at the point of enrolment with the balance spread over the following 4 months (dependent on the length of the course), the instalments are made through direct debit so you need to provide your bank details which include your account number and sort code. Without these details the instalment plan cannot be completed.

Employer / Sponsor Paying

If your employer is paying for your course fees please provide a letter on Company letterhead stating the course and fee your employer is paying.

Non-Payment of Fees

The College may suspend continued study and/or prevent future enrolment on courses if any fees remain outstanding.

Further Information

Refunds
