Enrolment starts week commencing 19 August 2024 we will contact you with specific details for your course. For more information, you can contact our Information Team on 01226 216 123 or email info@barnsley.ac.uk

Yes, you will be required to provide ID at enrolment. Photographic ID is preferred, but we accept the following:

  • Passport
  • Driving licence
  • ID card or other form of national ID
  • National Insurance card
  • Certificate of entitlement to funding
  • Bank/credit/debit card

Your enrolment letter will state which campus to enrol at. Visit our Campuses page to familiarise yourself with the campus.

Please contact our Admissions Team via email: interviews@barnsley.ac.uk or telephone: 01226 216 106 who will inform the subject area and suggest an alternative date.

There are a number of different financial support schemes on offer for students studying at Barnsley College. These can help to cover some travel costs, study programme essentials, and a contribution towards food allowance and childcare support. Please be aware that students are not automatically entitled to funding, an application form and proof of household income should be submitted for assessment.

Most part-time courses will start week commencing Monday 2 September 2024. Your tutor will provide all the details about your induction and timetable when you enrol.

We offer both Functional Skills and GCSE level qualifications and you will sit an assessment before enrolling so we know which level is best for you.

Functional Skills courses are FREE for anyone aged 19 or over who lives in South Yorkshire.

GCSE courses are FREE for anyone aged 19 or over, who lives in South Yorkshire and doesn’t already hold a grade C/4 in the subject.
