This course starts on 22 November 2022 and will take six weeks to complete. Classes will be held on a Tuesday, 1.30pm-3.30pm

No previous formal qualifications are required.

You will achieve

Level 1 AAT Access Award in Business Skills.

Course overview

This qualification offers you the opportunity to develop key practical skills used in every business, your employability skills and get prepared for the workplace. You will also develop basic numeracy skills which supports everyday business activities; gain a practical understanding of how money moves in business and the processes and procedures that control sales and purchases.

  • Upon application you will be assigned a telephone interview, this will take place on a Tuesday between 3pm and 5pm

Course content

The qualification covers a range of skills and the relevant supporting knowledge, including:
• Preparing for work
• Using numbers in business
• Sales and purchases in business
• Essential digital skills

You will be assessed by an exam.

Upon completion, you can progress onto a number of courses, including the Level 1 Award Computerised Accounting (SAGE), Level 1 Access to Bookkeeping or Essential Digital Skills.

How much does the course cost?

This course may be FREE to you subject to eligibility criteria. Funding is available for those claiming benefits or on a low wage. (Eligibility criteria applies.) If you are not entitled to any funding the course fee is £255. You will need to register with AAT. A cost will be payable directly to AAT and this will give you access to study support resources for 12 months or until you complete the qualification, whichever comes first.

Having good English and Maths qualifications are important for most careers and we want to give you the help you need to succeed.

If you are aged 16 – 19 and don’t already have a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths they will automatically be included in your study programme. If you want to work towards higher grades in English and Maths we can help you do that too.
